Canada\u2019s Olympic champion Camryn Rogers threw 81.13m to improve her own North American hammer record at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays a World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger event, in Austin, USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is the fourth-farthest winning women\u2019s hammer mark in history and consolidates the 26-year-old\u2019s place at second on the world all-time list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only Polish hammer legend Anita W\u0142odarczyk, who set her world record of 82.98m in 2016, has ever thrown farther.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rogers was making her season debut, in her first competition since retaining her world title in Tokyo in September. She opened her campaign in Austin by throwing 78.54m and followed that with 78.99m in the second round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her record-breaking 81.13m was achieved in the third round and Rogers then threw 79.42m before finishing with two fouls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
