Anthony, looking for another good run, after making the semi-finals of the Swiss Open last week, was beaten 14-21, 10-21 by the Tien Chen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Indonesian shuttler is making a return to badminton after being sidelined with injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was also the end of the road for Japan\u2019s Yushi Tanaka, who had beaten Anthony in the semi-finals at the Swiss Open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tanaka, the sixth seed, battled for over an hour against China\u2019s Hu Zhean only to lose 18-21, 21-17, 18-21 in the last 16 match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Second seed Alex Lanier of France eased through to the quarter-finals with a polished 21-12, 21-16 victory over Thailand\u2019s Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, Indian youngster Ayush Shetty, the eighth seed, failed to advance to the men\u2019s singles quarter-finals after he was beaten 21-9, 18-21, 9-21 by Japan\u2019s Yudai Okimoto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The only other remaining seed in the draw, Frenchman Toma Junior Popov had to battle hard for his win. The fourth seed edged out Wang Tzu Wei of Chinese Taipei 21-19, 14-21, 21-15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Malaysian seventh seeds Kang Khai Xing-Aaron Tai were given the boot by Denmark\u2019s Christian Faust Kjaer-Rasmus Kjaer in the men\u2019s doubles second round tie. The Danish duo picked up a 21-17, 21-13 win in a match that lasted just 32-minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Top seeds Leo Rolly Carnando-Bagas Maulana, however, were in fine form. The duo defeated the French duo of Baptiste Labarthe-Quentin Ronget 21-17, 21-16 to book their quarter-final spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Second seeded Indonesian pair, Raymond Indra-Nikolaus Joaquin were 19-21, 21-9, 21-18 winners over Mael Cattoen-Lucas Renoir of France to book their last eight berth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the women\u2019s doubles, second seeds Hsu Yin-hui-Lin Jhih Yun were shown the exit by their Taiwanese teammates Lin Chih-Chun-Yang Chu Yun. They were narrowly beaten 24-26, 23-21 in a tense 41-minute encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
