We know how difficult it is given the level that Agus-Arturo always bring. They make us push ourselves to the limit every single day. They leave us many nights without sleep. I think that against them the best thing I can do is get out of defence, because they always put us under a lot of pressure.”

They started the week with a routine win over qualifiers, then stepped up a gear to race past eighth seeds Javier Garrido-Lucas Bergamini 6-2 6-1 but were forced into a gruelling three-set semi-final on Saturday against sixth seeds Jorge Nieto-Jon Sanz – who had accounted for fourth seeds Juan Lebrón-Leandro Augsburger 7-5 7-5 in the quarter-finals.

The Spanish duo nicked the first set 6-4, only for Galán-Chingotto to win out 6-3 6-4 and set up a final against the number one seeds who overcame an early three-set scare against qualifiers then dug deep to defeat third seeds Miguel Yanguas-Franco Stupaczuk 7-6 6-4 in the last four.

After wrapping up the title in one hour and 37 minutes, 28-year-old Chingotto added: “This rivalry keeps raising everyone’s level, so congratulations to them because they constantly push us to our limits. We try to enjoy it, but you also suffer quite a lot on the court.”

The women’s event was far from plain sailing for Triay-Brea as they were on the back foot in the last eight against sixth seeds Marta Ortega Gallego-Martina Calvo but regrouped to win in three sets then won through to the final with an easy 6-2 6-2 semi-final win over the fifth seeds.

Down the bottom of the draw, second seeds Paula Josemaría Martín-Bea González won through to the last four against third seeds Ariana Sánchez Fallada-Andrea Ustero Prieto and looked to poised to progress even further after levelling the match only to lose out 6-4 in the deciding Saturday set.

The final was Triay-Brea’s sixth consecutive final and, after a rollercoaster battle that lasted just over three hours, they defended the title that represented their first title as a pair last season with a 6-4 6-7 6-3 victory that had the crowd on their feet at the packed Palacio de Deportes de la Guía-Presidente Adolfo Suárez – 154 days after their last trophy.

Triay, 33, said: “They played a great match. They pushed us to the limit. We had nothing left. It was just heart and running, and the desire to win this match. I’m very happy to retain the title.”

Brea, 26, added: “I can only thank my team, who pushed me forward the whole time. It was a very difficult week for me; from the second match onwards, I was very sick.”

The 2026 Premier Padel circuit now moves on to Cancún in Mexico across March 16-22 with another P2 event.

Alejandro Galán drew level with Agustín Tapia as the active player with the most titles after he combined

[44
366
post-10375","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-international","tag-padel
["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Padel-scaled.jpg",2560,1707,false
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Padel-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Padel-300x200.jpg",300,200,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Padel-768x512.jpg",640,427,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Padel-1024x683.jpg",640,427,true],"1536x1536":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Padel-1536x1024.jpg",1536,1024,true],"2048x2048":["https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Padel-2048x1365.jpg",2048,1365,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Padel-825x575.jpg",825,575,true
https://www.infinitysport.asia/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Padel-590x410.jpg",590,410,true
admin
International
["GET
