{"id":10068,"date":"2026-03-03T09:15:01","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T02:15:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.infinitysport.asia\/news\/?p=10068"},"modified":"2026-03-03T09:15:04","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T02:15:04","slug":"new-doubles-no-1s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.infinitysport.asia\/news\/new-doubles-no-1s\/","title":{"rendered":"New doubles No. 1s"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Singapore Smash table tennis championships has had huge effects on the ITTF Table Tennis World Rankings, bringing new World No.1s in the men\u2019s and women\u2019s doubles and a career-high for the new men\u2019s singles World No. 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Lebrun brothers &#8211; Alexis and Felix &#8211; made history at Singapore Smash by becoming the first players from France to win a Grand Smash title across all disciplines, and their tremendous efforts in Lion City have been further rewarded by becoming the new World No.1s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alexis and Felix beat then World No.6 team Lin Shidong-Huang Youzheng 11-6, 11-6, 11-7 in the men\u2019s doubles final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The win saw them leapfrog Hong Kong&#8217;s Wong Chun Ting-Baldwin Chan and Korea&#8217;s Lim Jonghoon-An Jaehyun, who were the joint top ranked pair previously. Shidong-Youzheng moved up to fourth spot from sixth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Korean duo Ryu Hanna-Kim Nayeong\u2019s impressive run in 2025 and into 2026 has seen them rise to the World No.1 spot. The duo won three WTT Contender titles last year and recently lifted the WTT Star Contender Chennai 2026 trophy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although they exited Singapore Smash 2026 in the quarterfinal, they capitalised on former World No.1s Wang Manyu-Kuai Man&#8217;s absence from the championships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Japan&#8217;s Satsuki Odo-Miwa Harimoto maintained their third ranking ahead of China&#8217;s Wang Manyu-Sun Yingsha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sweden&#8217;s Truls Moregard produced his best finish at a Grand Smash event since lifting the Europe Smash &#8211; Sweden men&#8217;s singles title in August, making it to the semifinals of Singapore Smash, and has moved into the World No.2 spot, overtaking Hugo Calderano. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Thrill from Brazilian moved to the career-high second-place ranking only three weeks ago, when he won the ITTF-Americas Cup San Francisco 2026 and reached the final four at WTT Star Contender Doha 2026. He is now ranked fourth behind China&#8217;s Lin Shidong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another Chinese player Wang Chuqin maintained his stranglehold as the best men&#8217;s singles player in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The biggest mover in the women&#8217;s singles is Germany&#8217;s Sabine Winter.
