Alistair Docherty birdied the 72nd hole of regulation to earn a one-stroke victory over Chris Korte and Noh Seung-yul for his first Korn Ferry Tour title at the Argentina Open golf tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The win was worth USD 180,00 as well as qualification to the The Open Championship for Docherty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He made a two-putt birdie on the 354-yard par-4 18th to close with final-round 5-under 65, highlighted by bogey-free 3-under 33 on the back nine. He finished the week on a 22-under 258.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The co-leader in the previous three rounds, follows Ian Holt (The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic at The Abaco Club) and James Nicholas (Astara Golf Championship) as the third first-time winner this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The win also see him rise to No. 2 on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List off the strength of Sunday\u2019s victory and a T2 finish at The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic, his only other made cut in five starts this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Korte closed in at 9-under 61, the low round of this week\u2019s tournament, for his first top-10 in five career starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seung-yul recorded his his first top-three finish on the Tour since his victory at the 2013 Nationwide Children\u2019s Hospital Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taylor Montgomery finished T4 at 18-under with Shad Tuten, It was Montgomery’s second consecutive top-10, having finished tied-seventh at the The Panama Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tuten, meanwhile, recorded his highest finish on the Ferry Tour since a T3 at the Tulum Championship last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Argentinian amateur Segundo Oliva Pinto (T7\/-16) recorded the first top-10 by an amateur in a Korn Ferry Tour event since Cole Anderson finished T3 at the 2022 Live and Work in Maine Open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ian Gilligan (T9\/-15) and Hunter Eichhorn (T9\/-15) each recorded their Tour-leading third top-10 of the season<\/p>\n\n\n\n
