Del Solar keeps leads despite not finishing his round yet

Overnight leader Cristobal Del Solar maintained his lead at the Astara Golf Championships despite managing to play only eight holes and play being suspended with 67 players yet to complete the second round. The second round was suspended first due to lightning and then then due to darkness.

Del Solar is now tied at 10-under with Mason Andersen, who had completed his second round.

Del Solar was even-par thru 8 holes during the second round before play was suspended. Andersen made the most of the day recording seven birdies against one bogey for a second-round 6-under 65.

Making third appearance at the Astara Golf Championship, Andersen’s best result at the tournament was T8 two years ago.

James Nicholas, who is tied third with four other players, carded a bogey-free 6-under 65. It marks his career-best 36-hole position on Tour.

Tom Whitney (T3/-9), who holds conditional Korn Ferry Tour status and is making his season debut carded 8-under 63 despite bogeys on No. 5 and 13.

Hayden Buckley (T3/-9), who is coming off of two top-25 finishes this season played his last 24 holes bogey-free, highlighted by an eagle on No. 4 during the second round.

Hunter Eichhorn (T3/-9), who is making his tournament debut followed his bogey-free first-round 65 with a second-round 3-under 68.

Four-time Korn Ferry Tour winner Robby Shelton (T3/-9), who finished No. 40 in the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Points List sits at 2-under during the second round with seven holes left to play.

Five-time PGA TOUR winner Camilo Villegas (T42/-3), who shot a first-round 74, carded five consecutive birdies on Nos. 14-18 during the second-round en route to a 6-under 65.

There were a number of withdrawals. Ross Steelman withdrew due to illness before the second round while Bryson Nimmer withdrew during the second round for the same reason. Sebastian Cappelen, Rayhan Thomas, Braden Thornberry and Ben Kohles also withdrew during the second round
