Seven new champions were crowned at the IFSC Para Climbing World Cup at the Espace Mayenne, across AL, AU, and RP sport classes, where with familiar names confirmed their top-form and several newcomers celebrated breakthrough victories.
In the women’s RP3 event, world champion Marina Dias of Brazil extended her winning streak with another commanding performance, topping the standings at 51 — six moves ahead of Laura Nesciobelli of Germany, who secured silver with 45. Charlotte Andrew of Great Britain followed in third with 42+.
In the men’s RP3 final, Takano Tadashi of Japan claimed victory in a close contest, scoring 43 to match Jamie Barendrecht of the Netherlands but taking gold thanks to a higher qualification ranking. Takano, who also triumphed at the season opener in Salt Lake City, USA, added a second gold to his 2025 collection. Camille Caulier of Belgium completed the podium in third with 36+.
Despite competing through injury, Jasmin Plank of Austria secured her third consecutive World Cup gold of 2025, winning the women’s RP2 final ahead of Chiara Cavina of Italy, who took silver with 34+, and Futahashi Matoi of Japan, bronze medallist with 32+.
The French crowd had much to cheer for as Thierry Delarue and Siloë Tetaz both struck gold. Delarue captured his fourth title of the season in men’s AL2 — adding to his victories at all three World Cups and the World Championships in Seoul, South Korea — with a score of 45. Urko Carmona Barandiaran of Spain matched the same score but finished second due to a lower qualification ranking, while David Kammerer of Italy took bronze with 29+.
In women’s AU2, Siloë Tetaz of France stunned the field, winning her first-ever international gold medal with 42+ in only her third start. Eleanor Rubin of the USA followed closely with 41 after a her score was lowered due to an appeal, while Lucia Capovilla of Italy, who led qualification, settled for bronze with 35+.
The men’s AU3 final saw Mason Keough of the USA claim his first IFSC gold medal in a thrilling duel with Dominic Geisseler of Switzerland. Both finished with 28+, with Keough taking the win on countback. Bruno Longuet of France secured bronze with 25+.
The final gold medal of the evening went to Oriane Ilpide of France, who climbed superbly in front of the home crowd to take victory in women’s AU3 with 47. World champion Rosalie Schaupert of Germany matched the same score but took silver due to a lower qualification result, while compatriot Ria Grindel of Germany earned bronze with 35+.
