Om Sreypenh and Visal Chhong have stormed into the finals of the Muay competition at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain.
Om Sreypenh is the through to the girls -51kg combat 16-17, assuring Cambodia at least silver at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain.
She gunned down Filipina Iyeshia Blair Bituin 30-27 in the semi-finals to book her place in the final showdown and a shot at the gold medal.
In the final, she will be up against Kazakhstan’s Albina Zhuminova, who had edged out Vietnam’s Nguyen Do Phuong in her semi-final bout.

Visal Chhong is through to the finals in the boys’ -54kg combat 16-17.
He edged out Allanur Abdykarov of Kyrgyzstan 29-28 in the quarteri-finals before dominating Mongolia’s Byambatsogt Myagmar of Mongolia in the semi-finals.
Visal will be up against Iraqi Ibrahim Mohammed Khaleel in the final.
However, Thorn Chantou was denied the chance of a final appearance in the boys’ -51kg combat 16-17 after bowing out 27-30 to Asadbek Turdiboev of Uzbekistan in the semi-finals.
The result, however, assured Chantou the bronze medal.
3 x 3 BASKETBALL
The Cambodian basketball teams failed to advance to the quarter-finals after finishing the Group C tie in fourth spot with a 2 wins and 3 defeats.
Earlier today, Cambodia defeated Palestine 21-12 at the back off a sterling display from Heng Serey, who contributed to 15 of the team’s points.
However, they were beaten by Uzbekistan 16-20 despite a strong performance that saw both teams trading point for point. Both side were even tied at 14-14 at one stage.
