Ub claims fourth win of the season (Photo FIBA)
Serbian outfit Ub continued their dominance on the FIBA 3×3 World Tour, capturing their fourth title of the season after edging Baskets Bonn of Germany 20-19 in a thrilling final at the inaugural World Tour Dubai yesterday.
Led by tournament MVP Strahinja Stojacic, the Serbian powerhouse came through a challenging knockout campaign at Festival Bay before holding off a determined Baskets Bonn side to lift another World Tour banner.
The Final delivered a tense finish, with Ub holding off a late challenge from Baskets Bonn to secure the narrowest of victories.
The Serbians made an early statement, racing to an 8-2 lead before Bonn fought their way back into contention. Fabian Giessmann and Denzel Agyeman helped the German side cut the deficit to 10-9, but Ub responded with a 5-0 run to establish a 15-9 advantage midway through the contest.
Baskets Bonn refused to back down, with an Agyeman slam dunk bringing them within one at 15-14. The teams continued trading baskets down the stretch, with Ub holding a 19-18 edge under two minutes remaining.
Nerandzic then gave the Serbians a 20-19 lead with less than a minute to play. Giessmann answered with a dunk, but Bonn could not find another score as Ub held on to claim the championship.
The victory marked Ub’s fourth World Tour stop title of the 2026 season, further underlining their status as one of the circuit’s leading teams.
Stojacic capped another outstanding tournament by claiming MVP honors in Dubai, marking the second time this season that he has received the individual award at a World Tour stop.
The Serbian standout finished among the tournament’s statistical leaders, recording 28 highlights to lead the field and 11 key assists, also the most in the competition. He added 34 points, ranking second overall, and finished with a player value of 55.4, the second-highest mark of the tournament. His all-around contribution was instrumental in guiding Ub to their fourth title of the season.
Canadian Adris De Leon of Toronto claimed the Shootout Contest, scoring 12 points to take home the title.
Meanwhile, Piotr “Grabo” Grabowski of Poland won the Slam Dunk Contest. The victory marked his third dunk contest title at a World Tour stop in the 2026 season.
The FIBA 3×3 World Tour returns to Mongolia on November 14-15, as teams pursue their remaining opportunities to secure valuable ranking points and strengthen their positions ahead of the World Tour Final in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in December.
