World Kabaddi has appointed members to various positions in a restructure of the organisation as it looks to promote and develop the sport in a more structured and holistic manner.
Three continental bodies will see the appointment of new leaders. The World Kabaddi Central Board at its meeting last night confirmed the position of Prem Singh of Scotland as Kabaddi Europe president.
Abdallah Mustafa Athumani Nyoni of Tanzania has been confirmed as the Kabaddi Africa president. Abdallah is the current president of Tanzania Kabaddi Sports Association president.
World Kabaddi secretary general will double up as the president of Kabaddi Asia until a new Board is elected. Arasu is also the current deputy president of Malaysia Kabaddi Federation.
World Kabaddi also confirmed the appointment of Kenya’ Kabaddi Sports Federation president Matthew Mwangi as a Central Board Member.
Patiala District Attorney Anmoljit Singh has been appointed as a member of the World Kabaddi Legal Commission.
The Central Board also discussed on the conduct of various international tournament including the 3rd World Cup Kabaddi, scheduled to be held in the second quarter of 2027 in Canada.
The meeting also confirmed the conduct of the Pan-America championships in Canada and the European championships in Scotland in the first quarter of next year.
Effort are also being carried out to host the Africa Championships later this year and the Asia-Oceania championships early next year.
