Five-time WTT Grand Smash Mixed Doubles champions Wang Chuqin-Sun Yingsha are heading to China Smash as the duo look to defend the title they claimed one year ago.
With one month to go until the final WTT Grand Smash of the season gets underway in Beijing, the Doubles entries are now in, and the inclusion of Chuqin-Yingsha sends a serious message to the rest of the field: China are looking to win it all in the nation’s capital.
Chuqin-Yingsha have appeared at two WTT events since winning their fifth WTT Grand Smash title in Beijing, finishing as runners-up at WTT Finals Hong Kong 2025 and United States Smash 2026, losing both to Lim Jonghoon-Shin Yubin, who take the No.1 seed this time.
Jonghoon-Yubin’s 3-2 victory over Chuqin-Yingsha in SoCal was the first time a side from Korea had won a WTT Grand Smash Mixed Doubles title, and the first time the Chinese pair had tasted defeat at a WTT Grand Smash.
Leading the Men’s Doubles charge are three-time WTT Grand Smash finalists Lin Shidong-Huang Youzheng, who have become a serious force since first partnering up at United States Smash 2025. At that event, their campaign ended in the quarterfinals, but since then, they have finished in second place at Europe Smash – Sweden 2025, Singapore Smash 2026 and United States Smash 2026.
Shidong has won two Men’s Doubles titles at this level, both with Chuqin, and he will be hoping to lean on that experience and finally get over the line with Huang.
Standing in their way could be World No.1 pair Alexis Lebrun-Felix Lebrun, who seem unstoppable in 2026, having beaten Lin and Huang in the final of Singapore Smash 2026 to claim their first WTT Grand Smash title together, before getting their second at Europe Smash 2026.
The Women’s Doubles draw is headlined by Miwa Harimoto-Hina Hayata, two of Japan’s finest players, who, like the Lebrun brothers, won Singapore Smash 2026 and Europe Smash 2026. These two have been in phenomenal form this season, with a run to the final at United States Smash 2026 and a WTT Star Contender Ljubljana 2026 among their best finishes.
But it is the pair who beat them to the title at United States Smash 2026 who take the No.2 seed, as Wang Manyu-Kuai Man look to regain the World No.1 spot and win their fourth WTT Grand Smash Women’s Doubles title.
