Morocco won gold for the first time at the World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships, securing the women’s title on day two in Chuncheon.
Khoulal Merieme, Ennams Fatima-Zahra, Nada Laaraj and Amina Dehhaoui contributed to Morocco’s success, which was clinched with victory against Russia in the final.
They also overcame Kazakhstan in the quarter-finals and Thailand in the semi-finals.
Silver medals went to Alisa Soshnikova, Margarita Agrofenina, Iuliia Kudriavtseva and Mariia Federa, who helped Russia to beat host nation, top seeds and defending champions Korea in the quarter-finals and Iran in the semi-finals.
In the match for bronze, the Iranian team of Hasti Mohammadi, Fatemeh Ahmadi, Yalda Valinejad and Baran Nemati triumphed over Thailand.
China and India completed the eight-team line-up in the women’s event.
Competition at the Chuncheon 2026 World Taekwondo World Cup Team Championships concludes today with the mixed team event.
